This is the final EQ competency in the Six Seconds EQ Model, and one that is very dear to me as we are never on this life’s journey alone but surrounded by people with whom we need to interact on a daily basis. For these interactions to be meaningful we need to Increase Empathy.
Pursuing noble goals
Most of us are over the new year slump by now and ready to tackle the rest of 2021. There’s no better way to start off the second quarter of the year than looking into the competency of Pursuing Noble Goals. This competency falls within the Give Yourself area of our EQ model, where we find our self-direction and become more purposeful. This is when you do things for a reason and live your vision in your daily actions so that you lead with purpose and integrity.
Exercising Optimism
Exercising Optimism is about taking a proactive perspective of hope and possibility. This learned way of thinking and feeling gives you ownership of your decisions and outcomes. We all use both optimistic and pessimistic styles of feeling and thinking. However some tend to use one more often than the other.
4 Actions to improve EQ
The ability to manage the way one feels is said to be one of the most important assets that contribute to our well being as well as elevating business. Becoming emotionally intelligent does not happen overnight. Rather, it’s a muscle to be built and a habit to be created.
